Description: Two young elephants (Loxodonta africana)
These two young African elephants just made the crossing from Botswana to Namibia with their herd. Elephants are a matriarchal society where the oldest female elephant decides where the herd will go for food and water. Due to the ivory trade, elephants are being poached at an alarming rate. An elephant is killed every 26 minutes on average.
