Description: Pair of Nesting Great Blue Herons (Ardea herodias)
This pair of great blue herons returns to the same nest in the Vierra Wetlands each year. I have countless inflight pictures of the male bringing nesting materials to his mate. However, in this picture I like the way the clouds form behind the birds and the intertwined heads impart a sense of intimacy.
